DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The children of a murdered Dayton woman will have presents under the tree this Christmas.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is helping the community play Santa, providing the children of Amber Owens with presents.
Sheriff Phil Plummer says the department received a lot of community support to gather the presents.

“We want to thank everyone for their support. These babies are going to have a good Christmas Day thanks to everyone’s love,” said Sheriff Phil Plummer.
Owens was found murdered along a stretch of road in Trotwood after she was reported missing a month earlier. Her killer has yet to be caught.
The family of Owens says community support has been so great that funeral and burial expenses are paid for in full.
Bette Roebuck says one donation alone was $3,000.
