One dozen domestic violence arrests on Thanksgiving

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A busted out window, a shattered windshield, and a stack of arrest records were proof not everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving.

WREG pulled the arrest records for everyone arrested on the Thanksgiving holiday.

Out of the 43 people arrested, nearly one-third of the people were jailed for fighting with family members and loved ones.

Frederick Shaw was one of the 12 people arrested for a domestic violence incident that occurred on Thanksgiving.

According to a police report, Shaw is accused of chasing down his girlfriend with a “large knife” after he was asked to leave.

Officers reported the victim recorded the encounter on her cell phone and handed the footage over to police.

“It makes me want to move out of Memphis because that’s crazy,” Jessica Anderson, who lives near Shaw’s alleged attack, said. “That’s too close to home.”
