This has been an emotional time for the family of Travis Alexander. Some of you may not be familiar with the name, he was murdered by his girlfriend Jodi Arias.
Both the prosecution an defense have made their case. Let me make one thing clear I believe with everything in me she killed him. I don’t believe it was an accident, she shot with hopes of killing this young man. She finished just what she set out to do.
I also think she should be punished according to the crime. I just don’t think the Death Penalty is the right sentence. Yes I realize she will cost the system a lot of money keeping her in Prison.
This is my view on the Death Penalty. Let me say this the views expressed here are MINE I respect others just let me be honest about how I feel. I don’t feel we as humans have the right to sentence someone to death, bringing ones life to an end. Yes, the crime she committed was awful and she needs to be punished. What does death bring to her?
What does wiping her off the face of the earth bring to his family? I don’t think it will make them feel any better. It’s something about the death of a child that brings a sting even when justice is served.
You still have questions some will remain unanswered and some will make you upset if you knew the truth. So either way you go pain is going to be very present.
Let me ask you this, how can we be for the Death Penalty BUT raise all kind of noise over the legality of abortion. How can we say one murder is right and the other is wrong? I guess that’s the way we work full of double standards. We often want to go with what makes us feel comfortable at the moment.
We say what the majority agrees with. How about we go with what God says about life and death.
“The Lord brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the grave and raises up. (1 Samuel 2:6 NIV)
If we believe that we must believe God knew what was best on the day of the tragic events. Am I saying God wanted Travis to die? Not at all God is the one who stops the heart beat. God knew the quality of life Travis would have had he survived as well.
Today lets pray for ALL involved, lets pray for justice and comfort for the Alexander family.
Let me add I’m writing from experience my 3 year old son was murdered by my daughters Father. I know the pain of someone else taking your child away from you. No mater the reason life is life
I’ve also had abortions performed. Let me say I thank God he didn’t sentence me to death for the murders I committed. I didn’t know the babies I killed but God knew them when He created them.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5 NIV)
That’s Bible you can’t debate that. The bottom line is we have to stand firm on what we believe. Once you know better you do better.
Peace, love and comfort to all!!!
